At Adewale Adejumo, your satisfaction is our priority. We aim to make returns clear, fair, and simple so you can shop with confidence. This policy outlines your rights and our procedures for all returns.
1. 14-Day "Change of Mind" Returns
If you've changed your mind about a purchase, you can return it for a full refund, subject to the following:
- Return Window: You have 14 calendar days from the day your order is delivered to request a return.
- Condition of Goods: Items must be in pristine, resalable condition as new. This means the book must be unread, with no creased or broken spine, no bent pages or cover corners, and no markings, stains, or other signs of use. Any original shrink-wrapping must be intact. We reserve the right to refuse a refund if the item is not in resalable condition.
- Return Shipping Costs: You are responsible for the cost of return shipping for "change of mind" returns.
- Refund Details: Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of its approval. If approved, a full refund for the purchase price will be processed to your original payment method within 5 business days.
2. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
We take great care in packaging, but problems can happen. Your rights regarding defective, damaged, or incorrect items are fully protected by the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
- Your Statutory Rights: The CPA provides a 6-month implied warranty of quality on all goods. If a product you receive is defective, you have the right to return it.
- Return Window: You have 6 months from the day your order is delivered to report a defect and return the item.
- What Constitutes a Defect?: A defect is a material imperfection in the product's manufacture, such as significant printing errors (e.g., missing pages, upside-down text), binding failure (e.g., pages falling out), or damage that occurred before you received it. This does not include damage caused after delivery.
- Return Process: Please inspect your order upon arrival. If an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us immediately at community@adewaleadejumo.com. We will evaluate the issue and arrange for the item's return.
- Return Shipping Costs: We will cover the full cost of return shipping for defective, damaged, or incorrect items. We will provide you with a pre-paid return label and instructions.

Your Choice of Remedy: As per your CPA rights, you may choose one of the following:
- A full refund to your original payment method.
- A replacement of the same item, subject to availability.
- A repair of the item (if applicable).
3. Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned:
- Gift Cards: Non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Valid for three years from the date of issue.
- Digital Products & E-books: Non-returnable once downloaded or if the access code has been revealed.
Sale Items: Our "Change of Mind" policy applies equally to items purchased on sale. Your statutory rights to return a defective item within 6 months always apply, regardless of whether the item was purchased on sale.
4. How to Start a Return
To initiate a return, follow these simple steps:
- Contact our support team by emailing bookings@adewaleadejumo.com. Include your order number and the reason for your return.
- Our team will review your request and respond with the next steps.
- If your return is approved, we will send you a return shipping label (if applicable) and clear instructions on how and where to send your package.
Please do not send items back to us without first requesting a return, as they will not be accepted.
5. Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get the item you want is to return the original item for a refund. Once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
6. Gift Returns
If you received an item as a gift and wish to return it, please contact us at community@adewaleadejumo.com, providing the original order number if possible. We can assist with processing the return in accordance with this policy. Refunds for gift returns will be issued to the original purchaser's payment method.
